Swings
We have seen this style of swing at several fairs in adult and kid sizes.  It intrigues us.
To make them swing you need two people, one at each end, they each pull on a rope attached to the top center pole. This kids picture shows a girl by herself.  She was having a hard time getting any movement.

Steam Power Fair
England had steam powered machines before we did and used them into the late 1940’s. They have steam fairs to show off the different types that have been preserved and restored. We attended one and the equipment was amazing. Tractors were most the prevalent, but trucks, rollers, large organs, as well as miniature tractors and trucks were driven and displayed. The covers are for those machines that spent a lot of time in the rain. It protected the working parts.  The size of the tractors was impressive. We came home with a fine covering of coal dust. I now understand why all the buildings in England are dark and being cleaned.

Poppies
We live in the middle of a farming region with rape seed as the first crop producing bright yellow fields. Potatoes or wheat are planted next, and at the edge of the wheat you get field poppies.  They are beautiful, but the locals think of them as a weed.
Strawberries

England's strawberries are good but not quite as good as Oregon's Hoods.  They do know how to grow them. For anyone that has spent time in the dirt picking strawberries the picture above shows how to plant them.
